Studio SUZAN

When I sat down to write this post, it occured to me how many talented women I knew and how their lives could inspire women  to live their  life with passion and purpose.

This is the first in a series on working women finding success and exploring their passion through their work.

Meet Suzan Zahedi, artist, designer, poet, mentor, single mother (of twins), generous friend and collector of life’s beautiful treasures. Suzan is the owner of Studio SUZAN a stylish design gallery located in Westside Costa Mesa.

I first met Suzan five years ago at our local high school boutique when I purchased my first silver bangle. She insisted on polishing the piece before I took it home, so I offered to pick it up from her home (where her studio was at the time) a few days later. When I came by to pick up the piece, I ended up staying for two hours. We had an instant connection and on that day our friendship was born.

When you pull in to the parking lot for the first time you are not really sure what you are going to find, but once you walk through those doors it’s all over.

The acorn, inspiration for Suzan's latest collection.

The studio is fresh, inviting and all of 1400 square feet. The front half is where the “treasures” are kept and the back half is where they design and produce the signature pieces. Every inch of the studio has small touches of Suzan everywhere you turn, from the little bowls of beads and pods, to old books and hand written notes.

My gifted and talented friend.

Welcome to the gallery.

Tahitian Kashi pearls and hammered gold.

A room full of treasures.

Being a single mom, running an ever changing business has it’s challenges. In Suzan’s world, it boils down to economics. No matter what her dreams are or how much she wants to change the world, if she does not have a grasp on the bottom line she can’t deliver her message and raise her family.

She meets her challenges by staying focused. She prays, she listens and then she acts.

Hand hammered beauty !

When people say that her story and her jewelry gives them courage and hope. Suzan says ” it’s all about people, not things, she says beauty and kindness can help us find our way”.

I love my Suzan jewels! I have been collector for five years now and I cannot imagine a single day without one of her pieces on my body. I know first hand the thought and inspiration that goes into creating each piece.

Ancient Byzantine coins and faceted silver beads.

It is one of my favorite gifts to give, because a gift from Suzan will always be treasured.

We are thrilled to be featured on the June cover of Ceremony Magazine  with a piece from our “Bridal Collection

A very special thank you to Barnet Photography for the beautiful bridal images and the chosen cover, and to Larissa with Inviting Occasion for creating the amazing bouquet for our shoot.

To read about Suzan’s inspiring story or to feast your eyes on more “JEWELS” you must visit the studio or her website.

Nili, my thanks are to you, people don’t realize sometimes that being creative is one thing, being connected to people is another, and for me unless there is both, life is full of ideas but lonely. You are like a hummingbird, bringing out the sweetness of others because of your kindness.ReplyCancel
